Chamber producing ATHENA Award Celebration

An awards event for women is taking place downtown tomorrow.

The Grand Rapids Chamber’s ATHENA Award Celebration is this Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, at 235 Louis Campau St. NW.

The 2018 ATHENA Leadership Award recipient is Jennifer Maxson, who owns Belmont-based Jennifer Maxson & Associates, a communications and sales consulting firm.

The ATHENA Leadership Award honors a professional who has demonstrated leadership, mentored and provided opportunities for women and contributed to the community.

The 2018 ATHENA Young Professional Award will be revealed at the event.

The event will also showcase five women over 30 who have received ATHENA scholarships to pursue college degrees.

Tickets are $70 for chamber members and $80 for non-members.
