The Grand Rapids Chamber is producing a summit on diversity next week.

The chamber’s annual Diversity Equity Inclusion Summit will be from at 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, at 235 Louis St. NW.

The summit will include information about the business case for diversity, equity and inclusion and celebrate the 2018 Diversity Visionary Award winners.

Through 45-minute breakout sessions on unconscious bias, supplier diversity and embedding DEI into organizational goals, attendees will gain tools to improve their inclusive business models and learn about what diversity brings to the workplace.

The keynote speaker, Santa Monica, California-based corporate consultant Tracey Wilen, will speak on how gender and age drive different forms of leadership.

The awards recognize employers making “outstanding organizational strides in diversity and inclusion,” using five criteria: leadership commitment, diverse talent, internal processes, diverse supply chain and community engagement.

This year’s winners are the West Michigan Center for Art and Technology and Spectrum Health.

Tickets are $75 for members and $95 for non-members.

Registration is available online.
