Health system exec named to national class of 'Up & Comers'
An executive at a local health system is considered one of the nation’s 15 “emerging leaders” in the health care industry.
Dr. Leslie Jurecko — VP of quality, safety and experience at Grand Rapids-based Spectrum Health — is the only Michigan leader to be named to Modern Healthcare’s 2018 class of “Up & Comers.”
The designation honors leaders 40 or younger who have made “significant contributions in the areas of health care administration, management or policy early in their careers.”
Modern Healthcare is a publication covering health care business news, research and data.
The publication said Jurecko was selected by a group of judges from 152 nominees.
Aurora Aguilar, Modern Healthcare editor, said to keep an eye on the winners, who she said are motivated to improve patient experiences and leave the world a better place.
“The 2018 class of ‘Up & Comers’ has no shortage of leaders who step up to face and overcome the challenges re-shaping the health care industry,” Aguilar said.
Spectrum Health said Jurecko has “focused on a fresh approach,” effectively positioning quality, safety, patient experience and caregiver experience under one umbrella, resulting in a reduction of harm for patients and families.
