Gerald R. Ford International Airport is planning to surprise its 3-millionth passenger during a public celebration this week.

The community is invited to the celebration this Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the airport, at 5500 44th St. SE in Cascade Township.

Staff will be registering people to win three $300 flight vouchers and passing out giveaways, cookies and candy.

The 3-millionth passenger is expected to arrive at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday and will be greeted with several surprises: three $300 travel vouchers; three free days of parking from the GFIA Airport Authority; a gift basket of travel accessories from Hudson News & Gifts valued at over $300; a Beer City welcome basket from Experience Grand Rapids; and more.

Through October, Ford airport has served more than 2.7-million passengers this year.
