A group of hospitals in the region are some of the “best” in the country when it comes to information technology in health care.

The Ann Arbor-based College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, or CHIME, named 254 health systems and hospitals to its 2018 “Most Wired” list, meant to recognize the “best practices” of health care organizations’ adoption, implementation and use of IT.

The "Most Wired" list is also meant to help identify gaps in health care technology adoption and strategies and highlight opportunities for progress.

The results were determined based on survey data from more than 675 organizations.

“Being recognized again is a culmination of the continued commitment Metro Health has in utilizing technology to achieve our organization’s vision of taking health care to a better place,” said Josh Wilda, chief information officer, Metro Health - University of Michigan Health.
