Bank opens suburban branch
A West Michigan bank has opened a second branch in a suburb of Grand Rapids.
Sparta-based ChoiceOne Bank hosted a grand opening this week for its new branch at 590 E. Division St. NE in Rockford.
“Rockford is a growing market for us, so we are extremely pleased to open our second full-service branch office in this community,” said Kelly Potes, president and CEO, ChoiceOne Bank.
ChoiceOne purchased the 4,556-square-foot building at the site in January and renovated it with the help of Kentwood-based Integrated Architecture. The project concluded on Nov. 27.
The other Rockford branch is at 6795 Courtland Dr. NE.
In October, ChoiceOne opened a branch in downtown Grand Rapids, at 330 Market Ave. SW.
Skylet Cummings is the assistant VP and branch manager for the Rockford market.
She will oversee customer service and business development in the area.
The branch has a drive-up ATM/interactive teller machine, or ITM, which means customers can speak to the tellers via video connection.
ChoiceOne is providing commercial loans, consumer loans and residential mortgages from the new location, as well as traditional banking, including checking, savings and treasury services.
ChoiceOne Bank operates branches in Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon and Newaygo counties.
Its parent corporation is ChoiceOne Financial Services (OTC Pink: COFS) and also based in Sparta.
ChoiceOne Bank also offers insurance and investment products through its subsidiary, ChoiceOne Insurance Agencies.
The bank has almost 200 employees at its 14 West Michigan branches.
