West Michigan companies land in the 'Entrepreneur 360' ranking
A trio of businesses in the region have been named among the country’s “best entrepreneurial companies” by a magazine on entrepreneurship.
Hudsonville-based Shefit, Portage-based KMS Designs and Ludington-based Safety Decals are recognized in the 2018 “Entrepreneur 360” ranking by Entrepreneur magazine.
The ranking honors 360 small businesses per year that are “mastering the art and science of growing a business.”
It was released on Dec. 19.
To compile the fourth-annual ranking, Entrepreneur “invited companies to apply and evaluated them based on five metrics: impact, innovation, growth, leadership and business valuation.”
“Our annual evaluation of vetted data offers a 360-degree analysis of top privately held companies across a multitude of industries,” said Jason Feifer, editor-in-chief, Entrepreneur, in an online post.
“They are deemed successful not only by revenue numbers, but by how well-rounded they are. The companies that make the list have pushed boundaries with their innovative ideas, fostered strong company cultures, impacted their communities for the better and increased their brand awareness.”
Several other Michigan companies are in the ranking: East Lansing-based Top Shelf Brands, No. 28; Ann Arbor-based LLamasoft, No. 37; Royal Oak-based RPM, No. 145; Fenton-based Advanced Medical House Calls, No. 156; and Southfield-based Clarity Voice, No. 192.
