An area university is offering a new digital marketing professional development program.

Grand Valley State University now is offering a course that includes certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, Marketo, Hubspot Email and the TradeDesk, as well as opportunities for hands-on learning and collaboration, and mentorship from industry leaders.

The course also prepares students to take Facebook's Blueprint Certification but does not cover the cost of this certification.

GVSU’s Center for Adult and Continuing Studies piloted the program this fall and will open the four-month long program Jan. 15.

The program’s format consists of live virtual and online content, as well as in-person small group work, networking and collaboration opportunities.

The digital marketing science professional development program is operated in partnership with San Mateo, California-based GreenFig, a company that offers professional development in applied business science.

Program cost is $2,500.

Simone Jonaitis, executive director of CACS, said professionals need to continually refresh their skills to keep up with the rapidly changing digital marketing industry.

“Through this program, people will earn industry-recognized certifications in programs that businesses need and require,” Jonaitis said. “It will give professionals an opportunity to learn from industry leaders across the country, network with people from West Michigan and work on real-world projects.”

Program application is available through an online form for adults ages 21 years or older who have at least five years of professional or military work experience by the start date.

Applications are reviewed by the selection committee on a rolling basis, and an admission decision will be emailed within five business days. Registration then is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
