A dessert business has opened a new storefront in town.

Underground Cookie Club, which was operating as a food trailer, started selling its treats this month in Kentwood, at 5422 Division Ave. S.

The new store offers specialty ice cream sandwiches, scooped ice cream, Italian ice, cookies and more, with odes to various pop-culture icons like “Star Wars,” “Dr. Who” and “Harry Potter.”

“At our core, our mission statement is amazing cookies, creative art,” the company says on Facebook. “We strive to promote artistic talent and look at everything we do from a fun and unique perspective.”

The food trailer is still active and offers catering for events, corporate meetings and more.

The store’s winter hours are from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
