A major car dealer has made its first acquisition for 2019.

Betten Baker Auto Group, which acquired eight dealerships in 2018, has added yet another location to its family of car dealerships in West Michigan.

The latest acquisition is the 21st Betten Baker dealership and the 12th location selling GM vehicles.

The group has taken over operations of South Haven Chevrolet Buick GMC, at 10159 M-140, effective Jan. 29.

Betten Baker Auto Group co-owner Chris Baker said, like with previous acquisitions, the company will retain the South Haven employees.

The group has locations across Michigan and employs about 900 people.

“2018 was an incredible year for Betten Baker,” Baker said. “We set a record by adding eight dealerships to our auto group. We are excited to roll into 2019 and continue to focus on growth and customer service.”
