Manufacturer expanding HQ
A maker of vehicle lighting and various safety products is expanding its headquarters in the area.
Jamestown-based SoundOff Signal recently acquired a 31,000-square-foot building at 4182 Royal Court in the same industrial park as its current 97,000-square-foot headquarters at 900 Central Parkway.
“This expansion is important for us to continue meeting the needs of our customers,” said Mark Litke, president and CEO, SoundOff Signal.
“As the industry grows and changes, we intend to lead with cutting-edge technology, comfortable work environments and a focus that always places the customer first.”
The new building will come online in March, and SoundOff Signal will operate out of both facilities moving forward, in addition to its 12,000-square-foot commercial vehicle solutions facility at 3630 Highland Dr.
SoundOff Signal did not disclose the project cost.
Colliers International West Michigan represented SoundOff Signal in the transaction, and NAI Wisinski of West Michigan represented the unnamed seller.
The new building will be comprised of 12,000 square feet of office space for sales, customer service, finance and IT departments, as well as a training facility.
The remaining 19,000 square feet of space will house the company’s central warehouse functions.
SoundOff Signal said it will increase its overall headcount by an undisclosed amount in accordance with customer demand.
Founded in 1971, SoundOff Signal manufactures LED vehicle lighting, control systems and electronic warning solutions for the law enforcement, amber and government markets around the world.
SoundOff Signal said it has experienced 26 consecutive years of sales growth.
The company is about 70-percent privately held and 30-percent employee owned under an employee stock ownership plan, or ESOP.
It has more than 300 employees.
