Newspaper cuts frequency of print product
A newspaper in the region is reducing its print product to two days a week.
The Ionia Sentinel-Standard said it will publish a newspaper only on Wednesday and Saturday, starting Feb. 27. It's now available in print five days a week.
The Sentinel-Standard will continue to post stories online every day. It specializes in covering news in Ionia County, east of Grand Rapids.
The newspaper is owned by GateHouse Media.
Orestes Baez, Michigan group publisher, said the cost of delivering news continues to rise. He's promising more local coverage.
Many newspapers have cut back on home delivery or print editions in response to changes in advertising and readers' habits.
