Church buys building
A local church building has changed hands.
The Well Church will be moving from a shopping center in Kentwood, at 4488 Breton Rd. SE, to the former Millbrook Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, at 3661 Poinsettia Ave. SE, to expand its operations, according to NAI Wisinski of West Michigan.
Minor renovations will be made to the space, including updating the sound system and lighting, as well as modernizing the lobby and sanctuary.
“We are looking forward to expanding and continuing the vision that God has given us to bring a positive impact into our community by offering life-skill workshops, along with our regular services, conferences, family ministries and community groups,” said Kathy El-Ali, founder and senior leader, The Well Church.
“This building provides plenty of space, including a large sanctuary, multiple classrooms, offices, a kitchen and a community room to be able to do all that’s in our hearts to do.”
NAI Wisinski of West Michigan agent Rod Alderink represented the seller, Millbrook Christian Reformed Church, while NAI Wisinski agents Jason Makowski and Mary Anne Wisinski-Rosely represented The Well Church in the purchase.
The sale price was not disclosed.
“This is a segment of the market we are very familiar with, and it’s a privilege to work with so many great organizations during their time of transition,” Alderink said.
The Well Church's former site is available for lease through NAI Wisinski. Millbrook Christian Reformed Church has "dissolved" and is no longer operating, according to NAI Wisinski of West Michigan.
The Well Church will host an open house and worship night on Good Friday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. The church’s first Sunday morning service at the site will be on Easter, April 21, at 10 a.m.
