Hospital renovating medical office building
A medical office building in the region is undergoing a $2.5-million renovation project.
Holland Hospital will renovate its space at 844 Washington Ave. in Holland, according to First Companies last month.
The building is home to several of Holland Hospital’s outpatient services.
The renovation project will include upgrades to the building, remodeling of Holland Hospital’s Rehabilitation Services suite and improvements to its Comprehensive Breast Services suite and bone density testing suite.
The project should be finished this September.
The building is owned by real estate investor Rick Gates, and Holland Hospital is the tenant. The cost of the project will be shared between the owner and the tenant.
“Our valued patients and visitors to the building can look forward to improved design, new features and advanced services,” said Patti VanDort, SVP of hospital operations and chief nursing officer, Holland Hospital.
“This project will reinforce our commitment to offering convenient, leading-edge health care services to our community.”
The project will include a 2,560-square-foot addition with enhanced entrances for patient safety and convenience. Other features include snowmelt sidewalks, a newly designed parking lot with LED lighting and a glass hallway connecting buildings 2 and 3.
Rehabilitation Services will have a new covered drop-off entrance for patients and add advanced neuro/occupational rehab services with simulated apartment and living spaces. The rehab team will also offer a private space for driving assessments, a spacious gym and a patient/family conference room.
Grand Rapids-based First Companies is managing construction, while r2 Design Group is the architect and Amanda Christine Design is the interior designer.
“We’re honored to bring extensive experience building class-A medical facilities to the Holland community and are committed to completing all work on time, while ensuring minimal disruption to the hospital staff and their patients,” said Matt Sink, COO, First Companies.
