Manufacturer renovating office space
A manufacturer is rejuvenating a 12,000-square-foot office space at one of its facilities in the region.
Hastings-based Flexfab Horizons International, a maker of high-performance silicone and polymer products, is renovating office space at its 76,912-square-foot main production facility, dubbed Flexfab, LLC, at 1699 W. M-43 Highway in Hastings, according to the company last month.
The project’s cost was not disclosed.
Construction began in February and is scheduled to be completed this fall.
“People are very excited about the renovation,” said Bill Rohr, VP of human resources, Flexfab. “The combination of open concept with private space, windows and natural light is welcomed.
“The final product should be something we are all very proud of.”
Some interior demolition has begun on the space, which will have “a completely new look from floor to ceiling” when the renovation is complete, the company said.
The project includes the “rejuvenation” of office areas, restrooms, a lunch area and meeting space to provide a "state-of-the-art, professional work environment.”
Three Grand Rapids-based firms are working on the project.
Architectural Concepts is the architect.
CD Barnes Construction is the contractor.
Custer is handling design and furniture procurement.
“The final goal of the project is to encourage teamwork, innovation and the creative engineered solutions Flexfab is known for,” CD Barnes says on its website.
