Brewery producing Starkbierfest
A brewery is putting on a “little Oktoberfest” in April.
Cedar Springs Brewing Company will host its fourth-annual Starkbierfest on Saturday from 3-9 p.m. at its brewpub, at 95 N. Main St. NE.
The event will feature limited beer releases, as well as a "sausage party" with in-house sausages like Dearborn kielbasa, Fontanini Italian sausage and more.
There will also be live music from German folk musicians Dave Slivinski and the Aaron Dussing Duo, as well as blues music by Jimmie Stagger.
Starkbierfest is a tribute to the historic practice of monks brewing strong beer, or bock bier, which is higher in calories and a bit stronger to substitute for food during Lenten fasting.
Limited beer releases
— Küsterer Pale Bock
— Buffalo Trace Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Märzen
— Küsterer Bohemian Pilsner, dry hopped with Czech Saaz
— Küsterer Original Weissbier
Attendees must be 21 or older and have valid ID.
The event is free and open to the public.
