A juice maker in the area has developed on-the-go packaging for its low-sugar line.

Sparta-based Old Orchard Brands will soon roll out 10-ounce Healthy Balance juice bottles in six-packs, according to the company this week.

The drinks will be sold at Walmart and Schnucks, among other retailers across the country, with a suggested retail price of $3.79 per pack.

The company said the drinks contain “95% less sugar, carbs and calories” than traditional juice.

The twist-cap drinks will be available in four flavors: apple, peach passionfruit, mango tangerine and strawberry watermelon.

“More than 100 million Americans have diabetes or pre-diabetes and require sugar-restricted diets, including many children,” said Kevin Miller, VP of marketing, Old Orchard Brands.

“We’re also seeing a commitment to mindful swaps of high-calorie and sugary drinks with lower-sugar alternatives. To answer this growing need, we created single-serve versions of our Healthy Balance line, making it easier for consumers to stay healthy on the go.”

Each flavor has 10 calories and 1-2 grams of sugar per bottle. The four blends are sweetened with sucralose, a no-calorie sweetener, and fortified with Vitamin C.

Old Orchard did not immediately respond to a request for the release date of the drinks.

Twenty-four bottle cases are available online.

Old Orchard’s juice lineup includes more than 40 frozen concentrates and 60 bottled varieties.
