Accounting firm appoints managing partner
A major accounting firm has chosen a leader for its local office.
New York-based Deloitte appointed Tina Wheeler, C.P.A., managing partner of its Grand Rapids practice, according to the firm last week.
She succeeds Lou Moran, who is retiring after nearly 39 years with Deloitte.
“I have no doubt that Tina will continue to build our presence in West Michigan and continue to lead our professionals to deliver the quality service our clients have come to expect,” said Moran, who had served as Grand Rapids managing partner since 2008. “We are confident that her leadership will take our Grand Rapids practice to new heights.”
Wheeler said she is excited to re-connect with her West Michigan roots after time spent in the Detroit area.
“I am honored to lead Deloitte’s practice here,” Wheeler said. “I look forward to serving the Grand Rapids business community with insight and integrity and continuing to deliver exceptional service to our clients.”
In her new role, Wheeler, a 28-year Deloitte veteran, will help drive client and business growth and “enhance Deloitte’s strategic positioning in the Grand Rapids market.”
Wheeler is an advisory partner for clients in the health care and consumer sectors and serves as the national and global health care audit leader for Deloitte & Touche.
She will also lead community involvement initiatives for Deloitte, connect with various professional organizations and continue to maintain her client service responsibilities.
Wheeler is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of CPAs.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hope College.
