A local home care franchise has been recognized nationally.

Cincinnati-based FirstLight Home Care, a provider of non-medical home care, recognized the Grand Rapids location as its 2019 Franchisee of the Year.

Jeff Lamborne and brothers Jeremy Fellows and Don Fellows were selected from more than 120 FirstLight franchisees in the U.S.

Franchisees were evaluated based on a variety of criteria, including client satisfaction, caregiver retention, quality of service provided and year-over-year revenue growth, the company said.

“The Fellows and Lamborne have experienced extraordinary growth in Grand Rapids and have expanded the FirstLight brand throughout western Michigan with multiple locations,” said Jeff Bevis, co-founder and CEO, FirstLight Home Care.

“Jeremy, Don and Jeff are an inspiring example of FirstLight’s culture of care and stewardship to a local community.”

FirstLight Home Care caregivers help seniors and others with many needs, including personal hygiene and household duties, such as cooking, cleaning and running errands, as well as respite and dementia care.

The Grand Rapids franchise offers a variety of companion and personal care services to residents of Grand Rapids and the surrounding communities.

The owners opened new locations in Kalamazoo and Muskegon on Jan. 1. They plan to open a fourth in Hudsonville this fall.
