A supplier of packaging products has named a new operations leader.

Holland-based Coastal Container hired Bill Cessna as its director of operations, according to the company today.

Cessna will oversee production, maintenance, shipping and trucking.

“Bill brings over 20 years of experience to his new position at Coastal Container, and his skill set aligns perfectly with our company’s goals,” said Paul Doyle, CEO, Coastal Group.

“Bill is hard at work bringing his knowledge of the industry and equipment to our lean manufacturing processes. Together, the combination will be powerful.”

Cessna said he plans to implement a new computerized maintenance management system, pursue industry certifications, improve overall operations across the company and continue several ongoing projects within the company.

“My plan is to take time to analyze the systems currently in place to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately saving Coastal and our customers time, money and resources,” Cessna said.

Cessna brings 25 years of experience in the packaging industry, having most recently spent two years at a corrugated company in Kalamazoo.

Previously, he spent 22 years as VP of operations for a display and packaging company in Aurora, Illinois.
