Tech company connecting to Europe
A local supplier of parts for mobile devices is sailing to distant shores.
Grand Rapids-based Mobile Defenders, a wholesaler, is partnering with iRiparo, a European device repair company with over 150 stores located in Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Spain.
Mobile Defenders is working with one of iRiparo’s larger repair store partners, CPR-Cell Phone Repair, on the venture. With iRiparo and CPR’s storefronts combined, Mobile Defenders will deliver to over 700 locations around the world.
Gruppo AQA, a distribution company based in Italy, will also assist Mobile Defenders in opening a warehouse to supply the European market.
“We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand into Europe, and we feel very confident that this is a terrific opportunity to leverage our 10 years of experience in the mobile phone parts business,” said Jordan Notenbaum, CEO Mobile Defenders.
“AQA has extensive experience as a European distribution company, and iRiparo, in partnership with CPR, plans to become the largest mobile phone retail repair company in the EU.”
Mobile Defenders was founded by Notebaum, Garry VonMyhr and Steve Barnes to supply their own chain of repair stores, Genius Phone Repair, with quality replacement parts, before Genius was sold in 2018.
Mobile Defenders began supplying to retail repair locations across the country shortly after.
