Feds giving Ford airport $14M
Gerald R. Ford International Airport is getting $14 million in federal funding for an expansion project.
Ford airport is one of 127 airports in the U.S. receiving supplemental funding this year for infrastructure projects, according to the Federal Aviation Administration yesterday.
The funds will be used for a $17-million apron, or tarmac, expansion project expected to begin in July, according to Tara Hernandez, marketing and communications director, Ford airport.
This is in addition to the $30-million apron renovation project that began in March 2018 and received $18.7 million from the FAA. The renovation project is on course for completion this year, Hernandez said.
