Private school group acquires academy
A local private school group has acquired an out-of-state academy with 16 campuses and changed its name.
Grand Rapids-based iEducation Group, formerly Fusion Education Group, acquired Irvine, California-based Futures Academy, according to iEducation Group today.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The formation of iEducation Group creates one organization that will operate three individual schools groups, including Futures Academy, Fusion Academy and Oakland, New Jersey-based Barnstable Academy.
Kelly Bozarth will continue as CEO of Futures.
iEducation Group is backed by the New York City-based investment firm Leeds Equity Partners.
