School system appoints director of inclusion services
A local private school system has named a new director of inclusion services.
Grand Rapids Christian Schools promoted Kim Primus to the position after seven years as inclusion coordinator at Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School’s Iroquois Campus.
Each of Grand Rapids Christian Schools’ five campuses has an inclusion coordinator responsible for facilitating educational and accommodation plans of students receiving inclusion services, allowing the students to be full members of general education classrooms.
Primus will lead the district’s entire inclusion team, as well as continue in the coordinator role at Grand Rapids Christian’s Iroquois Campus.
“I want all students to know they are loved and belong in our school communities. Truly loved. Truly belong,” Primus said.
She holds a B.A. in sociology, an M.A. in elementary education and an M.Ed. in early childhood general and special education.
“Kim demonstrates an outstanding knowledge of students, is highly respected by parents and staff and is uniquely equipped to ensure the strength, alignment and coordination of K-12 inclusion services for Grand Rapids Christian Schools’ students,” said Tom DeJonge, the school system’s superintendent.
