Health system opens $5.6M suburban facility
A West Michigan health system has opened a new outpatient facility in a Grand Rapids suburb.
Mercy Health invested $5.6 million for a new outpatient facility across two buildings in Ada, at 6741 and 6745 Fulton St. E.
Open this month, the 19,500-square-foot facility offers a variety of primary care and specialty services, including internal medicine, pediatrics, pelvic medicine and urogynecology, laboratory services, X-ray and ultrasound.
Services opening at a later date include obstetrics and gynecology, vascular and vein, general neurology and advent physical therapy.
The new facility brings together 14 care providers representing primary care and specialty services. More providers will be practicing at Mercy Health Ada when the additional services open.
“Mercy Health Ada was designed through feedback contributed from patients and providers — with the goal of keeping the patient in mind,” said Dr. Kristen Brown, president, Mercy Health Physician Partners.
Two key features leading from the feedback include ensuring patient privacy by using an exam room for patient intake, as well as a team room concept, which allows providers to work in a collaborative space rather than individual offices.
Grand Rapids-based Progressive AE was the architect on the project.
Ada-based Erhardt Construction was the project’s general contractor.
