Health club relocating
A health club in the area is moving.
Anytime Fitness Kentwood will re-open this summer in Bretwood Centre, at 4450 Breton Rd. SE.
The 6,500-square-foot club will be outfitted with new amenities and services, additional private bathrooms and showers, modern equipment and training spaces.
Anytime Fitness Kentwood was previously located at 6010 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Kentwood.
The location in late May announced over social media it would relocate to Bretwood Centre after the landlord decided not to renew its lease.
Ron Frelix and his wife will be partnering with previous owner Amy Sweeney in the venture of re-opening Anytime Fitness Kentwood in Bretwood Centre.
“The opportunity came a few months back when we were offered the chance to purchase Anytime Fitness Kentwood,” Frelix said. “A solid member base and culture already existed, and I had been a member since opening in 2013.
“We plan to have this be the first of multiple Anytime Fitness franchise locations and see this venture as a platform to further impact people and the community.”
Anytime Fitness Kentwood anticipates a grand re-opening this August with pre-sale promotions starting in July.
Bill Tyson, a retail specialist with NAI Wisinski of West Michigan, represented Bretwood Centre’s landlord, while Patrick Monhney, a broker with Blue Rock CRE, represented Anytime Fitness Kentwood in the transaction.
The Anytime Fitness franchise is headquartered in Woodbury, Minnesota.
It serves over 4,000 locations in 50 countries. The clubs are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
