Health system opens $2M facility
A health system has opened a facility in the region for urgent care and workplace health.
Mercy Health invested nearly $2 million to renovate and open the outpatient facility at 1670 E. Sherman Blvd. in Muskegon, according to the system last week.
The 9,770-square-foot facility is designed to provide greater access to health care services that are in high demand throughout the lakeshore market.
Mercy’s Workplace Health program moved from the Hackley Professional Building in Muskegon, at 1675 Leahy St., to the new location.
“Workplace Health will now be more centrally located to businesses whose colleagues use our services,” said Michael Weessies, VP of business health solutions, Mercy Health.
“Additionally, this new urgent care will be conveniently located near Mercy Campus for patients whose medical conditions do not warrant an emergency department visit.”
Grand Rapids-based Progressive AE was the architect for the renovation project.
Muskegon-based Clifford Buck Construction Company was the project’s general contractor.
