A workspace interiors firm is expanding its presence in West Michigan.

Custer Inc. announced it plans to open two new showrooms in downtown Holland and Kalamazoo later this summer.

Custer will serve as a tenant of @HomeRealty in the real estate company’s newly developed 21,000-square-foot Holland office located at 171 College Ave. Custer will have access to the first floor of the new three-story building.

“The lakeshore has been a strategic region for us for many years. We look forward to expanding our clientele and being part of Holland’s growing market,” said Todd Custer, president and CEO.

Custer also will support the southwest Michigan region from the 15th floor of The Exchange building at 155 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Kalamazoo. The city’s newest 345,000-square-foot landmark offers nearly 60,000 square feet of commercial and retail space to its tenants — including Chemical Bank, Rx Optical, two restaurants and the new home to Phoenix Properties, the firm managing and developing The Exchange.

Custer will occupy 6,500 square feet on the 15th floor of the building with a co-working space announced as “Worklab by Custer.”

Custer has had a presence in Kalamazoo for over 20 years and most recently has operated out of the Haymarket Building at 161 E. Michigan Ave. since 2014.

Both showrooms are expected to be complete in late summer or early fall.

The two new showroom spaces will be additions to Custer’s existing showrooms in Traverse City at 101 North Park St., and Grand Rapids at 217 Grandville Ave. SW, 320 Hall St. SW and 99 Monroe Ave. NW, Suite 200.
