Nonprofit hires executive director
The state affiliate of a national organization that funds breast cancer research has named a new executive director.
Trudy Ender took the role for Grand Rapids-based Susan G. Komen Michigan, beginning July 1.
Working in the nonprofit and government sectors for over two decades, Ender brings leadership experience in areas including fund development, financial management and human relationship skills.
Most recently, she was executive director for the Humane Society of West Michigan.
“Trudy’s leadership and experience in managing nonprofit organizations will be an integral part of the continued success of Komen Michigan,” said Chuck Christmas, Komen Michigan board president.
“We believe Trudy will enhance current and develop new strategic partnerships with community members and organizations that will help us eliminate barriers that prevent women and men from receiving vital breast health services.”
Previously, Ender worked for over 10 years as the administrative and operational manager for the U.S. Courts Probation and Pretrial Services. She’s also held roles for Advanced Radiology Services and Uniform Color Company.
Ender has a B.S. in English from Central Michigan University and a certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.
Komen Michigan served more than 60,000 women and men in 2018.
