Appliance brand whips up new blenders
A kitchen appliance brand is debuting a pair of high-powered blenders.
KitchenAid, a brand of Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool, recently engineered the models K150 and K400, which “offer exceptional functionality,” including the ability to crush harder ingredients, according to the brand this spring.
The blenders will be available later this summer.
“We set out to create blenders that addressed consumer needs we saw in the market,” said Nikki Lockett, U.S. marketing leader for KitchenAid Small Appliances.
“A pain point we saw is the inability to quickly and effectively crush ice and tackle tough ingredients. Looking to the needs of makers, we knew we had to solve these problems with our new blenders.”
KitchenAid K150 Blender, $99.99
This blender is designed with the ability to crush a half tray of ice in less than 10 seconds via an ice-crushing setting, plus it has three individual speed options to blend smoothies.
KitchenAid K400 Blender, $249.99
For those looking to "tackle even tougher ingredients," the K400 Blender has a 1.5-peak-horsepower motor that creates “a powerful blending vortex.” Users can blend recipes with three presets, including ice crush, icy drinks and smoothie, while also controlling the taste and texture with a five-level variable speed dial.
