Tech firm expanding operation
A web and software development company is expanding its operations in the area.
BizStream is investing more than $500,000 to add one story to its existing facility in Allendale, at 11480 53rd Ave., according to Lakeshore Advantage. The current space is 20,000 square feet.
The 6,500-square-foot expansion will allow the company to create at least 12 new jobs over three years, adding to its current 32-person team, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation said.
This will allow the company to keep all its workers housed in the Allendale office instead of having remote employees. The project is scheduled for completion this winter.
BizStream is experiencing an increased volume of business and recently turned work away due to lack of building capacity to house additional employees, the MEDC said.
Lakeshore Advantage, the Zeeland-based economic development organization, worked with the company and connected it with local and state resources to support the expansion.
“BizStream is a keystone IT employer in Ottawa County with an exceptionally creative workplace culture attractive to tech workers. Through working with local partners and BizStream and understanding their growth vision, we were able to connect them with new resources to aid in that growth.”
BizStream is receiving a $60,000 Micro Michigan Business Development Program grant from the MEDC to support the expansion. BizStream is the second company in Michigan to receive this grant.
Allendale Charter Township is expected to approve an industrial property tax abatement to support BizStream’s growth, Lakeshore Advantage said.
Founded in 2001, BizStream builds web, online marketing and software solutions. The company specializes in ASP.NET, SQL Server, and Kentico CMS and Kentico EMS development. Alongside custom development services, BizStream has three Software as a Service (SaaS) products, including YouthCenter, CaseStream, and Toolkit for Kentico.
