Hospital hires orthopedic surgeon
A new orthopedic surgeon has joined the staff of a hospital in the area.
Dr. Josh Natali joined the staff of Allegan General Hospital last month, offering orthopedic care that includes general orthopedics and total joint replacements, focusing on sports medicine.
He joins Dr. Christopher Koziara at Allegan Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center in Allegan, at 551 Linn St. The center is part of Allegan General Hospital.
Natali recently completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Beacon Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Cincinnati, where he worked with high school, college and professional athletes, including the Cincinnati Reds.
He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland and graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and exercise physiology from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
“What I love about sports medicine is that it encompasses all ages, from kids to adults,” Natali said. “It can be the high school athlete, a weekend warrior or the retiree who loves to golf.
“My goal is the same for all of them, to give them the best lifestyle possible. I want to help people return to activities they are passionate about and enjoy.”
Natali suggests that any time an individual has an ache or pain that keeps them from a hobby, passion or daily activity, it is appropriate to see an orthopedic surgeon.
He added that said he prefers “aggressive non-operative treatment as opposed to conservative care.”
