A new ax-throwing range is coming to Grand Rapids.

FlannelJax’s, an ax-throwing chain based in St. Paul, Minnesota, will open a corporate-owned ax-throwing center in Grand Rapids in October. The location's address was not disclosed.

FlannelJax’s opened in St. Paul in 2018 and features ax and lumberjack-related activities, including ax throwing, Thump-the-Stump and crosscut sawing in a safe, structured environment under the guidance and instruction of a certified staff of “Lumberjacks and Lumberjills.”

The company also plans to open a location in Madison, Wisconsin in September, followed by openings in Seattle in October and Fort Collins, Colorado in December.

“FlannelJax’s has been a tremendous success since it opened in St. Paul last year, and it is a concept that can be replicated in many other markets across the country,” said Stephen Schober, CEO of FlannelJax’s and Metal Supermarkets.

“We believe this is the perfect time to bring our popular ax-throwing experience to other communities.”

FlannelJax’s is owned by Metal Supermarkets, the "world’s largest supplier" of small-quantity metals. Metal Supermarkets has almost 30 years of franchise experience and 92 locations across the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
