Attorney recognized for work with nonprofits
An attorney with a West Michigan law firm has earned a lifetime achievement award for his work with the nonprofit industry.
Warner Norcross + Judd attorney David Thoms was honored with the Vanguard Award by the Nonprofit Organizations Committee of the American Bar Association.
Thoms was recognized with the lifetime achievement award for his 40-year career working with nonprofits.
He assists his clients with nonprofit and charities law, tax law, and trusts and estates.
In addition to working with clients on legal matters, the award celebrated his work to spread awareness of nonprofit law during speaking engagements and for his service on various committees.
Thoms serves on the board of directors of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and the French Institute Alliance Françaises Trophée des Arts Gala Committee in New York. He also serves as secretary and trustee for the Henry M. Seldon Charitable Trust, as well as on the board of directors for Greenleaf Trust.
He previously was president of the Financial and Estate Council of Metropolitan Detroit Inc.
Thoms practices at the firm’s Kalamazoo and Southfield offices.
