An Amway brand has won gold and silver Stevie Awards for excellence in two categories.

Nutrilite, a brand of vitamins and dietary supplements by Ada-based Amway, was recently named the winner of two 2019 Stevie Awards by the 16th International Business Awards program.

Amway was the only Michigan company to be honored on this year’s IBA list.

The awards recognize the recently launched Nutrilite #GoBehindTheLabel Traceability Program and include a gold Stevie Award in the PR-Other category for the campaign’s “pure, safe and effective” videos and a silver Stevie Award for the overall traceability campaign in the Brand Experience of the Year-Consumer category.

“We know consumers globally are eager to see how their food and supplements are made — especially the millennial generation,” said Kanan Banerjee, vice president for global nutrition, Amway.

“At Nutrilite, we have been doing traceability for 85 years, so we are delighted to be able to share the behind-the-scenes (work). … To be recognized for this effort makes me both grateful and incredibly proud of our teams.”

Winners will be presented with their awards at a gala in Vienna, Austria, on Oct. 19.

Methodology

The IBA awards are nicknamed the “Stevies” for the Greek word “stephanoo,” which means “to crown.

All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations to the IBA program.

Entries in 2019 came from organizations in 74 nations and territories.

A record total of more than 4,000 nominations from virtually every industry were submitted this year in a wide range of categories.

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated as judges from May through early August.

“The IBA judges from across the world were highly impressed with the nominations they reviewed this year,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
