A credit union in the region has tapped an entrepreneur to serve as its next director of marketing and communications.

St. Joseph-based United Federal Credit Union has hired Kathleen Wolf for the role.

“We’re excited to have Kathleen on board with her many years of outstanding marketing expertise,” said Erin Hennessy, chief innovation and marketing officer, United.

“She’s a proven leader and has demonstrated full capability to define and deliver compelling brand experiences cross channel.”

In her new role, Wolf is responsible for leading the organization in marketing, communications, branding, social media, digital marketing, community events, donations and sponsorships.

She oversees the marketing team, manages the marketing budget — including donations and events — and reports to Hennessy.

Prior to her new role, Wolf founded and led a management consulting firm called The Purpose Partners.

She also worked in marketing at Whirlpool Corporation for more than a dozen years, most recently as senior manager, global corporate reputation and interactive communications.

Wolf earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University in Chicago and an MBA with an emphasis in marketing and management from Cardinal Stritch University.

She is a board member of the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation and a past board member for 100 Women Strong and Cornerstone Alliance.
