Brunch restaurant schedules opening
A locally based restaurant company is opening its first “garden-themed” brunch eatery.
Grand Rapids-based Meritage Hospitality Group said this week it plans to open its newest concept, Morning Belle, at 1600 East Beltline Ave. NE, on Sept. 26.
It is the first of 35 planned Morning Belle locations.
“We saw the need for a fresh, new breakfast experience in Grand Rapids and developed Morning Belle to both fill that need and be expandable to other markets,” said Gary Rose, president and COO, Meritage.
Rose added the company plans to build four additional Morning Belle locations in West Michigan in 2020.
The completely remodeled former Twisted Rooster restaurant will feature “white brick and shiplap walls, warm cedar accents, vibrant garden fabrics, large windows and fresh plants to bring the outside in.”
The menu will feature items developed by a team of Grand Rapids chefs.
Choices will include traditional breakfast entrees, lighter options such as salads and grain bowls, and glazed doughnut waffles.
Morning Belle also will offer specialty beverages including freshly squeezed orange juice and breakfast cocktails.
The lineup of daytime cocktails will include mimosas, bellinis, bloody Marys and four flavors of spiked cold brews.
Morning Belle is hiring for restaurant positions including servers, cooks, hosts and dishwashers.
Restaurant hours will be 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
