A restaurant and bar in downtown Grand Rapids is planning to open another location in West Michigan.

A second location of The Grand Woods Lounge will be opening its doors in Kalamazoo at the former home of Arcadia Brewing Co., at 701 E. Michigan Ave., according to The Grand Woods Lounge today.

“We’re excited to offer Kalamazoo diners with another option in an amazing new space in the very near future,” said Dax Hylarides, managing partner, The Grand Woods Lounge.

“After years of searching for the perfect spot for our resort restaurant, we are excited to have the opportunity to be part of downtown Kalamazoo’s established dining and nightlife scene.”

Arcadia Brewing Co. has ceased all brewing activity at the site, effective Sept. 18, to make way for the immediate redevelopment of the building and property into a full-service restaurant and contract brewing facility, according to The Grand Woods Lounge.

The hospitality management team of the Lansing-based restaurant group Urban Feast, which includes The Grand Woods Lounge, has overseen the Arcadia Brewing building at the request of the lender, First National Bank of Michigan, after the brewery faced foreclosure earlier this year, The Grand Woods Lounge said.
