A hotel in downtown Grand Rapids has re-opened its in-house restaurant under a new name and new menu.

JW Marriott Grand Rapids has completed a remodel of the former six.one.six inside the hotel, at 235 Louis St. NW, and re-opened it as Margaux, beginning with dinner service this week, according to a post on the six.one.six Facebook page.

The restaurant — also a French bistro, as was six.one.six — serves appetizers, small plates, seafood and traditional French-inspired entrees, as well as desserts and confections, spirits, wine, cocktails and a handful of beers, according to a menu posted on OpenTable.

Margaux’s executive chef is Caprice Mikel, according to OpenTable.

A spokesperson for the JW Marriott declined to share more details at this time.

The JW Marriott Grand Rapids website says Margaux’s food will demonstrate “a creative command of raw ingredients” and “a palatable confidence evident in every dish.”

The Margaux Facebook page says the restaurant has a “sophisticated, modern atmosphere” with a casual dress code.

Margaux serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Its hours are 11:30 a.m. to midnight, Monday-Friday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The restaurant will host its grand opening on Sept. 30.
