Nonprofit hosting marketing conference
An inaugural nonprofit marketing and fundraising conference featuring professionals from around the country is being hosted in town.
DO MORE GOOD, an educational nonprofit based in Spring Lake, is hosting the one-day conference on Oct. 10 at New Vintage Place, 889 Broadway Ave. NW in Grand Rapids.
The last day for registration is Sept. 30. Tickets are $125.
The conference will host more than 200 nonprofit professionals from organizations around the region. The speaker lineup includes professionals with experience that can help nonprofits with communication, fundraising and marketing efforts.
The keynote speaker is Jimmy Smith, founder and chief creative officer of Los Angeles-based advertising and entertainment agency Amusement Park. The Muskegon native has worked with such brands as Nike, Gatorade, JBL and Hilton, as well as nonprofits and social campaigns.
“One of the founding beliefs of DO MORE GOOD is that what has built big brands can also further charitable causes,” said Bill McKendry, the organization’s chair.
