Downtown Market hires director of sales
The Grand Rapids Downtown Market has named a new director of sales and private events.
Trevor Young has joined the Downtown Market in the role, according to the organization yesterday.
He is responsible for “prospecting new private event rental opportunities, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the events department, building and implementing sales strategies and ensuring the event logistics team and vendors provide flawless execution.”
Young has “extensive experience in sales and marketing,” most recently as director of sales for the Grand River Hotel.
He attended Grand Valley State University for two years before completing his bachelor’s degree at Northwood University in Florida.
The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is a $30 million, LEED-certified, mixed-use facility that brings together production, distribution, marketing and education about local foods and growing.
It incorporates entrepreneur and experimentation space for emerging and experienced food artisans and merchants, including a 24-vendor Market Hall and two restaurants.
