A local university and a holding company have developed a partnership to offer scholarships to employees.

Davenport University will offer a scholarship to employees of Emergent Holdings, according to the school this week.

The Corporate Education Scholarship is an initiative between Davenport University and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce to create opportunities for in-state companies to provide educational benefits to their employees.

The Corporate Education Scholarship is offered to qualifying Michigan Chamber of Commerce member companies and provides scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 per employee.

Employees may use their scholarship to offset the costs of degree programs or professional development courses offered at Davenport.

Emergent Holdings, based in Lansing, owns Glen Allen, Virginia-based Advantasure and Lansing-based AF Group.
