A bank in the area has named a new executive.

Hudsonville-based West Michigan Community Bank, or WMCB, hired Patricia Lucas-Simerson as assistant vice president and cash management officer, according to the bank last month.

She will be based at the bank’s downtown Grand Rapids branch, at 177 Ottawa Ave. NW.

Lucas-Simerson will serve the commercial markets in Kent and Ottawa counties by providing treasury solutions to help businesses achieve their financial goals.

“Patricia will play a vital part in helping our local commercial clients accelerate receivables and improve payment practices, as well as help them mitigate fraud,” the bank said. “She brings a strong background of integrity and moral character to her position.”

Lucas-Simerson has 19 years of banking experience, including executive-level roles in business banking, treasury management and commercial card management at PNC, Huntington and Capital One.

She holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from Central Michigan University and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

WMCB has six branches throughout West Michigan and offers personal and business banking and wealth management services.
