A franchisee is building a new fast-food taco restaurant in a suburb of Grand Rapids.

New Hope, Minnesota-based Border Foods is planning a Taco Bell in Caledonia Township, at 6445 Cherry Meadow Dr. SE, according to Colliers International West Michigan yesterday.

It is expected to open in November.

“Taco Bell is honored to be part of the growing Caledonia community and offer a new restaurant option for residents,” said Lee Engler, CEO, Border Foods.

The 2,710-square-foot restaurant’s menu will feature tacos, burritos, quesadillas and much more.

The location is projected to create 40 jobs.

Grand Rapids-based Wolverine Building Group is the general contractor on the project and has built other Taco Bell locations throughout West Michigan.

Mike Murray, SVP at Colliers, helped Taco Bell find land for the location.

“This is the first new construction of a restaurant in Caledonia since 2006,” Murray said.

Taco Bell has 55 locations throughout West Michigan.
