John Ball Zoo hires development director
John Ball Zoo has named a new development executive.
The zoo hired Bethany Stowe as development director, according to the organization last week.
Stowe is responsible for directing the strategies, planning and implementation of John Ball Zoo’s fundraising and membership programs.
She will also provide support and leadership for all functions of fundraising, including events, donor relations and stewardship, planned giving, corporate giving and sponsorship and special campaigns.
“Bethany has a deep connection to our mission of inspiring communities to be actively engaged in the conservation of wildlife and our natural environment,” said Mike Lomonaco, chief development and community engagement officer, John Ball Zoo.
“Combining this fact with her wealth of experience, a track record of success and genuine community engagement will be a difference maker, as we work together to fulfill that mission.”
Stowe was a teen volunteer for the zoo and previously returned as a summer staff member.
Stowe comes to John Ball Zoo after serving as the director of fundraising and events for Catholic Charities West Michigan.
Previously, she worked for Karpata Instore Service and Kent County.
She holds a B.A. in hospitality and tourism management from Grand Valley State University.
