A family-owned beverage retailer is keeping the Russo’s memory alive.

MEGA-BEV, a Michigan beverage retailer, announced it has opened a new store in the former Russo’s International Market space at 2770 29th St. SE, Grand Rapids.

According to a post on the company’s Facebook page, MEGA-BEV Grand Rapids officially opened on Nov. 11. In addition to providing a wide range of domestic and craft beer, wine and liquor, the store will honor the memory of Russo’s market by providing a grocery section and a full deli.

“For those of you that shopped at Russo’s we will continue to offer the gourmet grocery section as well as the deli items you love,” the post read. “You will also be happy to hear Dave Russo has decided to join our staff and will continue to be available to assist with your wine selections.”

Russo’s co-owners and brothers Phil Russo and Dave Russo announced their plans to retire and close their business in August this year, according to a previous Business Journal report.

MEGA-BEV is a family-owned beverage retailer with stores in Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Portage, Hastings, Lansing and Marshall.

MEGA-BEV’s owners, the Niecko family, have 24 years of experience in the adult beverage business and promise a vast selection of beer, wine, and spirits.
