Appliance maker inks deal with homebuilder
An appliance maker in the region has signed an exclusive deal to provide appliances to a U.S. homebuilder.
Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool Corporation said it has signed a five-year exclusive agreement with Arlington, Texas-based D.R. Horton to provide large appliances in all newly built D.R. Horton homes from Jan. 1 onward.
The brands Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag and KitchenAid are included in the deal.

Horton. “Whirlpool’s product diversity and emphasis on best-in-class customer service make them the ideal exclusive appliance provider for our family of brands.”
Dave Cichocki, vice president, U.S. sales, Whirlpool Corporation, said the deal will provide D.R. Horton with a tailor-made array of options for first-time homebuyers to empty-nesters.
