A local attorney has garnered statewide recognition.

Mika Meyers’ Elizabeth K. Bransdorfer was honored with the Blaine B. Johnson Jr. Award by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. The award recognizes those who have made long-term, significant contributions to continuing legal education in Michigan.

The award was named after Blaine B. Johnson Jr. who passed away. He was a member of the Jackson County Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Bransdorfer has been a practicing attorney for more than 30 years. She specializes in divorce and family law, focusing on mediation and collaborative practice, traditional litigation and arbitration.

She has been admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for both the Western and Eastern Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. Tax Court. She serves on the Council of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is the chair for the section.

Bransdorfer earned her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and her B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
