A physician group has named its new chief operating officer.

Stacey Merren began the role for Mercy Health Physician Partners on Jan. 27.

In the role, Merren helps develop strategic, financial and operating priorities for Mercy Health Physician Partners.

Merren moved from her previous role as director of operations, obstetrics, gynecology and women’s health for Spectrum Health Medical Group.

Prior, she was a practice manager for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and for Knollcrest Obstetrics and Gynecology.

“Stacey is a transformational health care leader who is experienced in facilitating conversations about change management and continuous improvement,” said Dr. Kristen Brown, president of Mercy Health Physician Partners. “She will be an asset to our leadership team as we continue to strive for top-decile performance of our medical group.”

Merren has an MBA degree from Grand Valley State University and bachelor’s degree from Spring Arbor University.
