James Scales is an attorney at the Grand Rapids-based law firm Mika Meyers. Since 1987, Scales’ law practice has involved real estate, construction, estate planning and property taxation matters. He also has extensive experience in municipal law, zoning and utilities and lectures on various topics. He currently serves as chairman of the City of Rockford Planning Commission and is past president of the Rockford Education Foundation and Rockford Sports Boosters. He holds a B.S. from Michigan State University, a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and ICLE’s Probate & Estate Planning certificate.
